My Grand mother is the best
I just found out that my grandmother is in the hospital and is going to have surgery. She is frail but she chose this surgery instead of being in a wheelchair the rest of her life. I would have done the same thing. She is so far away from me and I can't be with her so I am going to share a story about her with you from my childhood.
My grandmother is the best at everything. She is the best wife, mother, cook, confidant. Just the best. In her younger days she used to bake from scratch. She made the best pound cakes you have ever put in your mouth. When I was little she would just take the pound cake out of the oven and while is was sitting there cooling, I would sneak in and eat the top off of it because it was the buttery part and so good. I would try to hide it but she always knew. She would fuss at me about it but I never got in too much trouble. She would always let me be in the kitchen with her while she was cooking. Teaching me how to make homemade biscuits and things. She even gave me her receipes when I got older. When I graduated highschool she took care of all of the invitations to the rest of the family. She got me a lot of money for graduation. When I was hurting or in a fight with my father she would always comfort me. She always let me know she loved me. She calls me baby. I like that. Yup mamaJean was the best at everything. She would always make me feel better. She made me want to be better. I always wanted to be like her when I grew up.
